At DILO, we understand learning English as much more than memorizing words or grammatical structures. For us, a language cannot be separated from the culture that brings it to life. That is why our English methodology for children goes far beyond the language itself.
Our goal is for students to experience English naturally, to understand it and use it meaningfully, just as a native speaker would.
Learning English through cultural projects
At the initial levels I1, I2 and I3, we work through five major annual projects. Each project is linked to a country or a group of countries where English is a vehicular language.
In this way, children not only learn English, but also discover new cultures, ways of life and ways of expressing themselves.
The projects are:
- United States of America
- Oceania and Pacific
- British Asia
- British Isles
- British Africa
Experimental English learning
Each project is developed through games, dynamics and communicative activities that create real situations for using the language.
This allows children to:
- learn English in a real context
- understand what the language is used for
- develop communication skills
- discover other cultures around the world
This approach makes learning more meaningful, motivating and long-lasting.
Groups adapted to each student’s English level
Level I1 starts from the age of 7, but at DILO groups are not formed only by age, but by each student’s level of English.
This allows us to adapt the pace of learning, vocabulary and activities to each child’s real needs, ensuring a more personalized and solid learning process.
An educational experience beyond school
DILO classes are designed to go beyond the school curriculum. Through cultural projects, students enjoy a rich and meaningful educational experience that helps them understand English as a real communication tool.
At DILO, we aim to educate global citizens who are able to communicate in English and understand other cultures with curiosity and respect.
Because at DILO, learning English means living it, feeling it and using it with purpose.
